WELCOME TO ONE COMMUNITY!

We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to presenting free forums and other events to educate and connect you to information vital to our community. We invite experts from near and far to speak about issues of local and national importance. We will also help facilitate ways for you to continue the dialogue on these issues and find solutions that will move our community forward. Your involvement is critical to our success. So join us by becoming a member, serving on a committee that interests you, attending our events, and helping us fulfill our mission.

Together, as ONE COMMUNITY, we will make a difference!

Dear Friend of One Community,

On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to invite you to attend an important transportation discussion about the SR-710 Project. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has been hosting a series of community meetings to get the community engaged in the planning process of the Environmental Impact Statement Report for the 710 Gap Closure.

In Mid-January of 2011, One Community hosted a Transportation Summit in Pasadena about Regional planning for our area. At this Summit, we received many questions to our expert panel about regional planning issues and in particular how to solve the 710 Gap for the area. We believe that this public meeting can serve as an essential follow-up to the questions that were asked about the 710 Freeway.

We encourage you to attend the next meeting happening in Pasadena to ensure that your voice is heard during this public comment period. All comments made by constituents about concerns or issues relating to the 710 Freeway get placed on the record, and are later addressed through the MTA’s Environmental Impact Statement Report.

The upcoming meeting is called Series 3: Scoping-Going on the Record. See below for details of where this Meeting will take place in Pasadena:

  • Wednesday, March 30, from 6-8pm at the Lake Avenue Church, 393 N Lake Avenue
    Pasadena, CA 91101.

For more meeting locations, please see: http://www.metro.net/projects/sr-710-conversations/

If you would like to RSVP, please contact Joanna Amador at 323-349-0661, ext. 16 or via email at joanna@victorgriego.com.

Please click on the link to see the invitation.

Again, we strongly encourage you to participate.

Best regards,

Barry Gordon,

Board President

My personal thanks to Parsons / Brinkerhoff for their contribution in the editing of the forum video and for their over all contribution to the forum. They have been more than magnanimous in their generosity and deserve a resounding round of applause from each of us. The additional post production for the 3hr, 27 minutes version will be done at the studio of the Pasadena Community Access Channel. The 3hr, 27 min. version will also have titles, production credits etc. I will be working on…
